台风“格美”当前中心距离台湾省宜兰县东南方向约80公里，其中心附近最大风力达到17级，即58米/秒，为超强台风级别。预计“格美”将以每小时10～15公里的速度向西偏北方向移动，预计24日夜间在台湾省中北部沿海登陆，强度为强台风级（14～15级）。随后，“格美”将穿过台湾省，于25日下午到上半夜在宁德福鼎到泉州晋江一带沿海登陆，强度为台风级或强台风级（13～14级）。
