News content:
Boeing released an apology statement regarding the accident of a 737 MAX 9 plane’s cabin door detaching, stating that safety is its top priority and expressing regret for the impact the incident had on passengers and clients. The company also announced its full support for the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) requirement to immediately inspect the same aircraft model.

It is reported that China’s aviation regulatory authorities are considering responding to the incident, including the possibility of suspending flights of Boeing’s MAX series. Although Chinese airlines do not operate the Boeing 737 MAX 9, the event has drawn high attention from domestic regulatory authorities.

The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has ordered airlines to suspend flights of the Boeing 737 MAX 9 and conduct safety checks on the aircraft model. The directive affects about 171 planes.

The accident involving the Boeing 737 MAX 9 occurred on the evening of January 5, when an emergency exit on the left side of Alaska Airlines Flight 1282 detached from the plane shortly after takeoff, causing the cabin to depressurize and oxygen masks to fall. Fortunately, all 171 passengers and 6 crew members on board were safely returned to the ground.

After the accident, Boeing stated that its technical team is supporting the investigation of the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and will continue to maintain close contact with regulatory authorities and customers.

Currently, there are 215 Boeing 737 Max 9 planes in operation worldwide, including 78 operated by United Airlines, 65 by Alaska Airlines, 29 by Panama Airlines, 19 by Mexican Airlines, and 3 by Dubai Airlines. Among them, United Airlines has suspended flights, and the other three airlines say their aircraft configurations are different from those of Alaska.

It is worth noting that the Boeing 737 MAX series has been grounded globally for nearly five years after two deadly accidents. This incident has once again raised questions about the safety of Boeing’s 737 MAX series of planes.
