Phantom of the Opera to Grace Chengdu Stage with 16 Performances,Bringing Art and Community Together
Chengdu, China – The city of Chengduis set to experience a captivating cultural event as the internationally acclaimed musical Phantom of the Opera makes its grand debut at the Chengdu City Music Hall. From November 12th to 24th, the iconic production will grace the stage for an impressive 16 performances, promising an unforgettable experience for theater enthusiasts.
Thearrival of Phantom of the Opera follows a successful series of cultural events hosted by the High-tech Zone Zhongyan Grand Theatre, including the contemporary dance performance 聚·散ON and OFF by the Hong Kong 09 DanceTheatre. This performance, part of the 2024 Hong Kong Arts Group Rongcheng Tour, explored themes of memory, construction, and forgetting, offering a poignant reflection on the experience of Alzheimer’s disease.
Beyond the stage,the Hong Kong 09 Dance Theatre engaged with students at the Sichuan Film and Television Academy, showcasing the beauty and dynamism of dance and discussing the potential of the art form. The Cong ensemble from Hong Kong, in collaboration with young pianist Huang Weiran, also presented a captivating string quartet performance for Chengdu audiences.
