Apple Opens New Belfast Store, Marking Sole Presence in Northern Ireland
Belfast,Northern Ireland – Apple has officially opened its new Belfast store, replacing the city’s previous location and becoming the only Apple Store in all of Northern Ireland. The new store, situated in the Cornmarket area, is a single-level spacewithin a new shopping destination called The Keep.
The move follows a trend of high-profile brands departing Victoria Square, where the original Apple Store, knownas Apple Victoria Square, operated since 2008. The previous store closed its doors on October 15th, 2024, and the new Apple Belfast opened its doors on Friday, October 18th.
We are thrilled to be opening our new store in Belfast, after serving customers in the city since 2008, said Wendy Beckman, Head of Retail for Apple’s European operations. Our new home will be a placefor all of the community and serve as a destination to explore and buy Apple’s incredible product lineup, experience unparalleled service and support, and learn how to get the most out of Apple’s devices.
The new store boasts a modern design and will employ over 90 individuals, including poets, musicians, andsingers. This suggests that Apple Belfast will host the popular Today at Apple sessions, featuring local talent and workshops, a hallmark of other Apple store openings. While Apple has yet to announce any specific sessions, the inclusion of creative individuals hints at a vibrant and engaging community-focused approach.
Apple Belfast stands as the sole Apple Storein Northern Ireland, a part of the United Kingdom, and one of 40 such stores across the UK. Notably, there are no Apple Stores in the Republic of Ireland, despite the country being home to Apple’s overseas headquarters. This new store opening signifies Apple’s commitment to the Northern Irish market and itsdesire to provide a dedicated space for customers to experience the full Apple ecosystem.
