Zhejiang Province Unveils Talent Attraction Initiatives, Offering Incentives and Platforms
Hangzhou,China – Zhejiang Province is ramping up its efforts to attract top talent, launching aseries of initiatives aimed at creating a more attractive environment for professionals across various fields. The province is focusing on building platforms for talent exchange, offering incentives, and fosteringa vibrant ecosystem for innovation and development.
The province’s efforts were highlighted at the 2024 Zhejiang Autumn Talent Exchange Conference held in Hangzhou on September 21st. The event brought together over 185 companies and institutions, showcasing over 4,200 job opportunities in sectors like information technology, mechanical manufacturing, biopharmaceuticals, and energy chemistry. The conference was held both online and offline, allowing job seekers to browse opportunities and submit their resumes through the Zhejiang Talent Network website and WeChat mini-program.
The event drew a significant crowd, with over 3,600 attendees and over 3,100resumes received. Initial estimates suggest that over 1,500 job seekers reached preliminary agreements with potential employers.
绍兴’s 候鸟人才岛 and Talent Week
绍兴 City, a key economic hub in Zhejiang, is taking a unique approach to attracting talent. The city launched its 候鸟人才岛 (literally migratory bird talent island) on September 21st, a platform designed to connect with professionals who are looking for temporary work or living arrangements in the city. The initiative aims to attract talent from both within China and abroad, offering opportunities for collaboration and knowledge exchange.
The 候鸟人才岛 will host regular academic exchanges and project matching events, providing intellectual support for the city’s industrial transformation and technological development.
To further enhance its appeal to talent, 绍兴 has designated the week of September 25th (鲁迅先生诞辰, the birthday of renowned writer Lu Xun) asits annual Talent Week. During the week, the city will host a series of events aimed at attracting and retaining talent, including:
- Talent Innovation and Entrepreneurship Series: 17 events focused on facilitating talent exchange and collaboration.
- Love and Respect Talent Series: Events showcasing the city’sappreciation for talent, including a collective wedding ceremony for young professionals.
- Enjoyable Talent Series: 10 events designed to enhance the quality of life for professionals in the city.
- Exclusive Talent Gift Packages: Eight different packages offering benefits and incentives for talent, including Hometown ConnectionGifts, Sports and Entertainment Gifts, and Autumn Health Gifts.
宁波’s Talent and Technology Week
Further south, the city of 宁波 also hosted its annual Talent and Technology Week on September 20th, coinciding with the 26th High-Level TalentRecruitment and Intellectual Property Exchange Conference. The event attracted over 930 employers seeking to fill various positions.
