Shenyang Hosts First Wedding Registration and Certificate Awarding Contest to Promote New Wedding Customs
Shenyang, China (September 21, 2024) –In an effort to enhance marriage registration services and actively promote wedding customs reform, the Shenyang Civil Affairs Bureau held the city’s first Wedding Registration and Certificate Awarding Contestfrom September 18th to 20th.
The event included a comprehensive training program for marriage registration staff, focusing on marriage and family counseling,international marriage registration and its connection with domestic registration, practical marriage registration procedures, and wedding certificate awarding etiquette. Participants also delved into typical cases related to marriage registration and explored advanced experiences and innovative practices in wedding customs reform.
The inaugural contest, themed Promoting New Wedding Customs, Contributing to Happy Marriages, saw 13 teams from across Shenyang compete. The competition comprised two stages: image presentation and scenario simulation. Participants were evaluated on their performance in five aspects: certificate awardingprocedures, etiquette, language expression, certificate wording, and presentation skills.
After intense competition and impressive displays, the teams from Huanggu District Civil Affairs Bureau, Shenyang Civil Affairs Service Center, and Heping District Civil Affairs Bureau secured the first prize in the team category. Liu Bing from Huanggu District Civil Affairs Bureau, LiWei from Shenyang Civil Affairs Service Center, and Song Yifei from Heping District Civil Affairs Bureau were awarded the title of Gold Medal Certificate Awarding Officer.
The contest aimed to enhance the ability of marriage registrars to handle cases professionally and respond effectively to emergencies. It showcased the exceptional professional skills and positiveimage of Shenyang’s marriage registration and certificate awarding officers. By promoting learning and development through competition, the event effectively pushed for the standardization and normalization of marriage registration services, further elevating the overall service level in Shenyang. The contest also aims to lead the way in promoting civilized new wedding customs, better fulfilling the people’s aspirations for a better life.
Over 200 people participated in the training and competition, including leaders in charge of civil affairs in various districts of Shenyang, heads of marriage registration departments, marriage registration and certificate awarding officers, and marriage registrars.
