Austin, Texas – Cards Against Humanity, the popular party game company, has filed a $15 million lawsuit against Elon Musk’s SpaceX for alleged trespassing on its private land in Texas. The lawsuit stems from SpaceX’s purported dumping of construction equipment on the game company’s property, which was purchased in 2017 with the help of donations from fans to protect it from former President Donald Trump’s proposed border wall.

The dispute began when an email was sent to around 150,000 donors of the Cards Against Humanity Saves America campaign. The campaign, launched in 2017, aimed to raise funds to purchase land on the U.S.-Mexico border to shield it from Trump’s plan to build a wall to deter illegal immigration.

In the email, the company accused Musk, who is also the CEO of SpaceX, of “completely f—-d your land with gravel, tractors, and space garbage.” The email further highlighted the contrast between the property in 2017, which was described as a natural meadow with wild horses galloping freely, and its current state, with dug-up earth, piping, and construction equipment.

According to the lawsuit, filed in Cameron County District Court, Cards Against Humanity claims that SpaceX treated the property as its own for at least six months, clearing the land of vegetation, compacting the soil with gravel, and creating an unsafe work site.

The company says it confronted SpaceX about its alleged disregard for property rights and trespassing, but the space company responded with a 12-hour ultimatum to accept a lowball offer for half the land’s value. Cards Against Humanity rejected the offer and chose to file a lawsuit.

The lawsuit outlines the company’s efforts to maintain trust with its loyal fanbase by using pranks and stunts to draw attention to issues or individuals who ignore the rights and problems of regular people for personal gain. Trump and Musk have been recurring targets of the company’s satirical antics.

Despite acknowledging that its chances of winning the lawsuit are slim due to SpaceX’s substantial financial resources and legal team, Cards Against Humanity is determined to fight for justice. In its email to donors, the company offered a glimpse into its plans if it prevails: the 150,000 donors who contributed $15 in 2017 would be entitled to split the net proceeds from the suit, with each donor receiving $100.

The email also included a call to action, urging donors to spread awareness about the lawsuit on Twitter and visit the website www.ElonOwesYou100Dollars.com.

As of the time of writing, neither Cards Against Humanity nor SpaceX had responded to requests for comment. The lawsuit has sparked a heated debate on social media, with many expressing support for Cards Against Humanity and its efforts to protect the land it purchased with fan donations.
