As the Mid-Autumn Festival approaches, the Guangzhou Metro is preparing for increased passenger traffic by implementing various adjustments to its operations. The adjustments aim to ensure smooth and efficient travel for the city’s residents and visitors during the holiday period.
Increased Passengers and Adjusted Operations
The Guangzhou Metro expects higher passenger volumes on the十四条线 (Line 14) and Twenty-One号线 (Line 21) during the Mid-Autumn Festival. To accommodate the increased demand, these lines will adjust their operational schedules and increase their train frequency.
Line 21
On September 14, the last day before the festival, the peak hour on Line 21 will start one hour earlier than usual. Additionally, from September 14 to 17, the fast trains on Line 14 will be replaced by regular trains, and the small and large sections of the line will be adjusted to enhance transport capacity in high-passenger areas.
Line 14
The adjustments on Line 14 include operating the Jiahe Wanggang Station to Dongfeng Station and Jiahe Wanggang Station to Taiping Station sections to improve transport efficiency. The arrival and departure times of the fast and regular trains will be subject to changes due to the adjusted operational organization.
Extended Service Hours and Additional Trains
To further facilitate travel during the festival, the following adjustments will be made:
- Extended Service Hours: On September 17, the Mid-Autumn Festival, Lines 1, 2, 3 (including the North and North of the North), 5, 7, and 8 will extend their service hours by one hour.
- Early Peak Hours: The late peak hours on Lines 1, 2, 3 (including the North and North of the North), 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and the Guangfo Line will start from 12:00 to 13:00.

On September 15, the Line 2 will start its operation 30 minutes earlier in the direction of Guangzhou South Station.
