Title: Swedish Media Reports Previous Confrontation Between Joost Klein and Camerawoman Amid Eurovision Song Contest Controversy

Body:

In a recent development, Swedish media outlets have reported that Dutch singer Joost Klein had a previous confrontation with a camerawoman during the week of the Eurovision Song Contest. The incident is said to have occurred while the singer was preparing for the contest and has drawn renewed attention following Klein’s recent threatened gesture towards the same camerawoman, which led to his exclusion from the final of the song contest.

According to Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet, the earlier clash between Klein and the camerawoman took place when she was filming Klein for backstage footage. The woman claims that Klein had requested she stop filming, but she refused to comply, citing a signed document that allowed for the filming. Despite the Dutch team’s subsequent apology and promise that Klein would not react negatively again, the tensions appeared to persist.

During the second incident, in which Klein made a threatening gesture towards the camerawoman, she initially did not react, thinking it was a joke. However, Klein’s demeanor escalated, and she felt scared and vulnerable, as reported during her first police interrogation.

The police were informed that the woman was seeking compensation of 7,000 crowns, or over 600 euros. During the interrogations, Klein expressed unclear memories of the event and claimed that his threatening gesture was directed towards the camera, not the woman herself. Klein also denied any criminal intent, stating he did not recognize himself in the situation.

It has been noted that Aftonbladet did not publish the full police report, with many parts blacked out. Meanwhile, AVROTROS and Klein’s management acknowledge that the singer was indeed harassed several times during the Eurovision Song Contest but have not commented on the Dutch team’s actions following the first incident.

The Swedish Public Prosecution Service dropped the case against Klein early in August due to insufficient evidence to prove that Klein’s threatening movement was intended to cause the woman serious fear.

This series of events highlights the complexities and sensitivities surrounding the Eurovision Song Contest and the challenges faced by participants and crew members alike.
