Iberdrola Embraces Cloud-Based GenAI to Enhance Customer Experience and EnergyProduction
Madrid, Spain – Iberdrola, a century-oldenergy giant and the world’s second-largest electricity company by market capitalization, is embracing cloud-based generative AI (GenAI) technology to drive innovation,optimize business processes, and personalize customer service.
The company is initially focusing on using GenAI to improve customer interactions and energy production processes. Iberdrola plansto leverage Amazon Web Services (AWS) Bedrock and SageMaker to develop custom GenAI applications.
These applications will include:
- Legal Assistance: GenAI will help Iberdrola’s legal team quickly find and answer questions relatedto company contracts.
- Field Maintenance Support: GenAI assistants will provide real-time insights based on IoT data, aiding field maintenance personnel in servicing and repairing power infrastructure and renewable energy sites.
- Sales Team Automation: AI-powered generative voice bots will assist sales teams in answering customer inquiries about products and pricing in real time.
Iberdrola has established a GenAI Center of Excellence (CoE) with AWS, aiming to develop over 100 GenAI applications to enhance customer experience, support employees, and improve business processes.
