Hubei Province to Achieve City-to-City High-Speed Rail Connectivity withthe Launch of Jingjing High-Speed Railway

Wuhan, China– The Jingjing High-Speed Railway, connecting Jingmen and Jingzhou in Hubei Province, commenced joint debugging and testing on September 4th, markinga significant step towards its official opening and the realization of city-to-city high-speed rail connectivity in the province.

The 77.48-kilometer railway, designed for speeds of 350 kilometers per hour, is a crucial component of the Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal high-speed railway network, specifically the Hohhot-Nanning High-Speed Railway. It connects Jingmen to the Yangtze River High-Speed Railway and Xiangjing High-Speed Railway in the north, and to the Han-Yi Railway in the south, linking Wuhan and Yichang.

The railway features14 bridges spanning a total length of 65.41 kilometers, accounting for 83.64% of the entire route. It includes three stations: Jingmen West Station, Shayang West Station, and Jingzhou Station.

The launch of the Jingjing High-Speed Railway holds particularsignificance for Jingmen, which was previously the only city in Hubei Province without high-speed rail access. With the line’s opening, all 17 cities and prefectures in Hubei will be connected by high-speed rail. Jingmen will also be integrated into the national high-speed rail networkthrough its connection to the Han-Yi Railway.

This project is expected to play a pivotal role in the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, further enhancing the comprehensive transportation system in the central Hubei region. It will boost the economic development of the Jiang Han Plain and its surrounding areas, contributing to the region’s high-quality economic growth.

The joint debugging and testing phase involves comprehensive assessments of various systems, including tracks, contact networks, communication, and signals. This crucial stage ensures the railway’s readiness for full operation and marks a significant step towards its official opening.

The completion of the Jingjing High-Speed Railway will not only bring about significant improvements in transportation efficiency and connectivity within Hubei Province but also contribute to the overall development of the region. It is expected to attract investments, promote tourism, and facilitate the flow of goods and people, ultimately fostering economic growth and social progress.

The project’s successful completionsignifies a commitment to infrastructure development and the pursuit of a more connected and prosperous future for Hubei Province and the surrounding region.
