Body of Missing Chinese Official Found After Nearly a Week in River
Jinchuan, Sichuan Province, China – The body of He Xiaoqing, themissing first secretary of the Decheng Village in the Gol Township of Jinchuan County, Aba Prefecture, Sichuan Province, has been found after a week-longsearch. He Xiaoqing, who was responsible for assisting the village in its development, went missing on August 22nd after his car plunged into a riverwhile he was conducting work in the village.
The news of He Xiaoqing’s tragic demise was confirmed on August 30th at 11:15 AM, when rescue workers finally recovered his body from the Dajin River. The vehicle, a black car, was located approximately 150 meters from the point of the accident, submerged nearly 6 meters below the surface of the river.
The search and rescue operation was a joint effortinvolving various agencies, including the Jinchuan County Fire Department, Emergency Management Department, Public Security Bureau, and the Sichuan Shurongchuan Emergency Rescue Team. The search efforts began on August 29th, after a possible vehicle was detected in the river. The recovery operation commenced at 3:02 PMon the same day, and after nearly 9 days of searching, the car was finally pulled out of the water on August 30th.
The vehicle was severely damaged and deformed, and the body found inside was confirmed to be He Xiaoqing’s. The news of his passing has sent shockwavesthrough the community, with many expressing their grief and condolences.
