Aug 10, 2023 – The Belarusian Air Force and Air Defense Forces were put on high alert at 18:00 local time on August 9, according to a statement by President Lukashenko of Belarus, reported by the Belarusian News Agency BelTA.
The Belarusian Defense Ministry stated that after detecting several airborne targets, the country launched aircraft and helicopters. At around 19:00 local time on August 9, the air defense forces successfully destroyed several targets entering Belarusian airspace.
Lukashenko said that Belarus suspected the airborne targets to be attack drones, which had violated Belarusian airspace flying from the Ukrainian direction.
