News Content: Under the guidance of the Ministry of Education’s Section of Teachers’ Work and the Department of Science Popularization of the China Association for Science and Technology, the China Science and Technology Museum successfully held the opening ceremony of the second phase of the “Museum-School Cooperation Project for Enhancing the Practical Abilities of Middle and Primary School Teachers in Science Education.” The project aims to improve the practical abilities of middle and primary school teachers in science education. It is hosted by the China Science and Technology Museum and co-organized by 12 provincial science and technology museums and 10 municipal science and technology museums.

The opening ceremony was held in Beijing, attracting 115 middle and primary school curriculum and teaching researchers and backbone science education instructors from across the country to attend in person. The second phase of the training is aimed at middle and primary school science subject curriculum and teaching researchers and backbone science education instructors. It will focus on project-based learning, the design and implementation of experimental teaching methods, and organize participants to develop courses by combining science museum exhibition and display resources. Through hands-on practice, the training aims to enhance interdisciplinary practical abilities and scientific literacy. The training plan will be conducted over 24 sessions from July to October 2024, aiming to promote the improvement of middle and primary school science education levels and cultivate more teachers with scientific literacy and practical abilities.
