Since its establishment on January 1, 2019, the Intellectual Property Tribunal of the Supreme People’s Court has been advancing its work with the principles of “high starting point, high standards, high levels, and internationalization.” At a press conference held by the National Information Office, Vice President Tao Kaiyuan of the Supreme People’s Court, a grand judge at level two, introduced that, by the end of December 31, 2023, the Tribunal had accepted and concluded all 15,710 cases.
As an integral part of China’s judicial system, the establishment of the Intellectual Property Tribunal of the Supreme People’s Court aims to better protect intellectual property rights and promote innovative development. Over the past five years, the Tribunal not only efficiently disposed of a large number of cases but also made significant achievements in improving trial quality and optimizing judicial services.
On an international level, the establishment and development of the Intellectual Property Tribunal also demonstrate China’s resolve and efforts in protecting intellectual property rights, which is of great significance for promoting international trade and technological cooperation.
