HMD Global, the Finnish smartphone maker, has recently revealed more information about its first batch of self-branded smartphones for the mass market. The TA-1585 smart phone and N159V function phone were spotted on Geekbench and EUIPO platforms, with some similarities to the Nokia C22 and Nokia 105 4G (2023).
According to Geekbench data, the TA-1585 smart phone, also known as Rocky, scored 200 points in single-core testing and 838 points in multi-core testing. These scores are similar to those of the Nokia C22, which scored 191 points in single-core and 839 points in multi-core testing. It is expected that the TA-1585 will be a “rebranded” version of the Nokia C22.
On the EUIPO platform, the TA-1585 smart phone has been revealed, and it shares similarities with the Nokia C22 in terms of design. Similarly, the N159V function phone has been found to have similarities with the Nokia 105 4G (2023).
The TA-1585 smart phone features a 6.5-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 720×1600 pixels. It is equipped with either 2GB or 3GB of RAM and has a storage capacity of up to 64GB. The device boasts a dual-camera system with a 13MP primary camera and a 2MP wide-angle lens, as well as an 8MP front-facing camera. It has a 5000mAh battery and supports fast charging through a 10W charger. The smart phone weighs 190 grams and is priced at €109 from February 25th, 2023 (approximately RMB 855).
These new devices from HMD Global mark a significant step in the company’s transition away from the iconic Nokia brand. As they continue to develop their self-branded portfolio, it will be interesting to see how they compare to existing competitors in the market.
