BEIJING – Sino-European Astronaut has announced that its latest launch vehicle, Yilong 1遥三， is set for a launch mission. This upcoming launch, dubbed as the “One Arrow, Five Stars” mission, is expected to take place at this month’s Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center.
As per our understanding, Yilong 1遥三 is a four-stage solid propellant carrier rocket developed by Sino-European Astronaut, also known as “ZK-1A”. This rocket was developed by Beijing ZK Yuhang Exploration Technologies Co., Ltd. and has a liftoff weight of 135 tons and a capacity to transport payloads in a sun-synchronous orbit of 700 kilometers.
This launch is part of the “ZK-1” series, which also includes the basic model “ZK-1”. Yilong 1遥三 is the unboosted configuration of this series, derivative from the basic model “ZK-1”.
Sino-European Astronaut has stated their plan to have six rocket launches per year by 2024 to enhance their rapid response capability and support the rapid networking of medium and low-earth orbit satellite constellations, thereby contributing to the construction of a strong space nation.
