据中国香港特别行政区政府运输及物流局官网，局长林世雄在其今天更新的“局长网志”栏目中提到，当地的牌照服务将进一步迈向“智慧之路”。林世雄宣布，运输署预计在今年底至明年初将推出电子驾驶执照。据介绍，电子驾照将会作为一项附加形式的驾照存在，届时驾照持有人只需登录电子驾驶执照专属移动 App，通过“智方便”或“牌证易”进行身份认证，即可获取电子驾照信息，警务人员可通过移动设备扫描加密的二维码对电子驾照予以核实。
