Xiaomi Unveils Plans for Factory Tours and Addresses Key User Concerns
Beijing, China– Xiaomi, the tech giant known for its smartphones and smart home devices, ismaking waves in the automotive industry with its highly anticipated Xiaomi SU7. The company has been steadily ramping up production and addressing key user concerns, including service network expansionand the upcoming Guangzhou Auto Show.
Expanding Service Network and Production Milestones
Xiaomi announced that the SU7 has already rolled off the production line 100,000 times, demonstrating the company’s commitment to meeting growing demand. To support this rapid production, Xiaomi has expanded its service network to 86 locations across 46 cities. The company plans to furtherincrease its presence to 119 service centers in 71 cities by the end of the year.
Live Stream Events and Guangzhou Auto Show
Xiaomi will be hosting two live streams in the coming days. On November 14th at 4 PM, CEO Lei Jun will showcase the end-to-end full-scenario intelligent driving experience on his Weibo, Douyin, Video Number, and Bilibili accounts. The following day, November 15th at 9 AM, Lei Jun will lead the Xiaomi car launch eventat the Guangzhou Auto Show. This event will be broadcast across multiple platforms, including Xiaomi’s official channels, digital and automotive media, and e-commerce platforms.
Walk into Xiaomi Car Factory Initiative
Xiaomi is opening its doors to the public with its Walk into Xiaomi Car Factory initiative. Thisprogram, launched after the factory received the 2024 Beijing Industrial Tourism Demonstration Point award, offers a unique glimpse into the company’s automotive technology and production processes.
Participants will visit the Xiaomi car technology exhibition hall, exploring key technologies like the integrated casting process, the cage-type steel-aluminum hybridbody, and the home-car-life ecosystem. They will then be transported to the factory floor, where over 700 industrial robots operate with advanced automation to deliver high-quality vehicles. The factory boasts a production rate of one new Xiaomi SU7 every 76 seconds, showcasing efficiency and precision.
The first round of applications for the factory tour has closed, but the second round will open in December. Interested individuals can register through the Xiaomi Car App community.
Addressing User Concerns
Xiaomi also addressed several user concerns, including the free one-year data plan offered with the SU7. Thedata plan will be activated upon vehicle delivery and is tied to the specific vehicle. After the free period, users can purchase a Car Networking Service Package for 19.9 yuan per month or 199 yuan per year. Basic functions like map navigation, remote control, OTA updates, andvoice assistant will remain accessible even without the package. However, features like online music and video streaming, KTV, and gaming will require the package.
