Seoul, November 11, 2024 – BMW GroupKorea announced on Monday that it will invest 65 billion won (approximately 340 million yuan) in its Anseong Regional Distribution Center (RDC) by 2027, expanding the facility’s total area to 1.5 times its current size.

The company revealed its plansat a press conference held at the logistics center in Anseong, Gyeonggi Province. The RDC’s total area will increase from 57,000 square meters to 88,000 square meters by 2027, equivalent to the size of 12 football fields. The number of parts stored at the center will also rise from 60,000 types (4.76 million units) to 97,000 types (7.72 million units).

BMW Korea initially invested 130 billion won in building the Anseong RDC in 2017. This latest investment, totaling 195 billion won (approximately 1 billion yuan), signifies BMW’s commitment to strengthening its logistics infrastructure inSouth Korea and enhancing its supply chain efficiency.

The expansion is expected to improve the company’s ability to meet the growing demand for BMW vehicles in the South Korean market. The increased storage capacity will allow for a wider range of parts to be readily available, facilitating faster delivery and improved customer service.

This move aligns with BMW’s global strategy to optimize its logistics operations and enhance its competitiveness in the automotive industry. The expansion of the Anseong RDC demonstrates BMW’s confidence in the South Korean market and its commitment to long-term growth in the region.
