Kazakhstan Offers to Facilitate Peace Talks Between Armenia and Azerbaijan

Astana,Kazakhstan – Kazakhstan has reiterated its willingness to serve as a platform for peace talks between Armeniaand Azerbaijan, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced on October 15th.

Tokayev’s statement came during a state visitby Armenian President Armen Sarkissian to Astana. The two leaders discussed the ongoing conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan over the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh region.

“Kazakhstan is ready to continue providing a platform for dialogue between Armenia and Azerbaijan,” Tokayev said, according to a statement released by the Kazakh presidential office.
