Liu Yong, a senior algorithm designer and engineer at Jinwei Integrated Circuit Co., Ltd. (Jinwei IC), is the architect behind the Dolphin Series, a groundbreaking high-performance 14-nanometer Beidou III chip. The team faced immense pressure. The tiny chip, with its billions of transistors, demanded meticulous attention to detail,with even the slightest error potentially jeopardizing the entire project. Liu Yong and his team worked tirelessly, often pushing through the night, fueled by their determination to succeed.
They started with a 55-nanometer chip, then moved to 40-nanometer, and finally achieved a breakthrough with the 22-nanometer chip. After a year and a half of relentless effort, they successfully developed the world’s first 14-nanometer Beidou III high-performance chip.
